Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can from Westhill Service Station. Ur pours cloudy golden - yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, juicy, sticky, sappy, mango, orange creamsicle, apricot, passion fruit, weedy and dank. The taste is dry with a kick of bitterness upfront, pithy, zesty, orange peel, kumquat, orange creamsicle, orange squash, greenness, dankness, touch of rawness, nip of booze, spice and some oaty bread with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate fluffy carbonation. Fresh and punchy. Nice one.

Can from Rosemount Market. It pours hazy deep red - purple with a medium fluffy off - white head. The aroma is juicy, tangy, crunchy ripe cherry, cherry yoghurt, orange sherbet, tangerine, blood orange, zingy and Bakewell pudding. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, zingy, crunchy, loads of ripe tart cherry, pithy, zesty, plenty of orange sherbet, tangerine, vibrant blood orange character, pomegranate, just a nip of alcohol and sour candy with a dry, fizzy candy finish. Medium+ body and moderate, supportive carbonation. Definitely has the sherbet dib dab character. Nice cherry and blood orange. Drinks well.

Can from Rosemount Market, Aberdeen. It pours slightly hazy lemony yellow with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, bright banana character, crackery malt, wheat bread, spicy snap, clove rock, peppery and damp grain. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, bready malts, floury, wheat crackers, straw, banana is there but more subdued than on the snout, touch of spice, twist of citrus and clove with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent chugger.

Can from the brewery. It pours hazy orange with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, orange fanta vibes, sticky, sugary, lactic, orange creamsicle and marmalade. The taste is crisp upfront, sweet, tangy, white sugar, orange fanta, lactic, orange creamsicle, white bread marmalade sandwiches and a touch of greenness with a sweet orange cream finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Easily the worst of the bunch. Too sweet and quite one dimensional.

Can direct from the brewery. It pours cloudy pineapple yellow with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet - sour, juicy, tart, tangy, milky, zesty lemon, candied lemon, lemon parfait, damp grain and cereal. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, juicy, puckering, lactic, natural yoghurt, zingy, zesty, candied lemon, lemon posset, lemon curd, white sugar, citric acidity and damp grain with a tangy lemon finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. The lemon zing makes this feel a lot less sweet than the raspberry version. Pretty nice overall. Not particularly reminiscent of cremola foam to my memory though.
