Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear pale gold with a thick white head. Aromas of pretty strong lemon and lime. Taste is lime again. Light sweet finish.

Can direct from the brewery. It pours crystal clear yellow - blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is green, herbal, lemon vibes, lemon verbena, lemonade, aniseed, sherbet and some piss. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, some green bitterness, damp grass, herbal, straw, dull aniseed, pithy, zesty, lemony, grapefruit, toasty grain, peppery spice, floral and some soapiness with a drying finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Despite the addition of sorachi ace (which I don't normally like) this is pretty good. Crispy and quenching.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - milky yellow with a fluffy white head. Nose - lemon, ash and biscuit. Taste - more of the same really. Not sure where the ash note is coming from. Palate - light to medium bodied, creamy middle, sweet then some zest to cleanse it a bit. Overall - ok.

Can picked up at JK Fine Foods, Aberdeen. It pours hazy bright purple with a decent pinkish - white head. The aroma is sweet and intoxicating, sour, tangy, slightly medicinal, purple fruit, plum, damson, blackcurrant jam, fruit cordial and boiled sweets. The taste is sweet - sour, juicy, tangy, puckering, sugary, candy, plum, damson, blackcurrant, boiled sweets, halls soothers, lactic twang and a touch of alcohol, with a tangy finale. Medium body and average carbonation. Not bad, maybe a bit heavy going though.

The taste is firmly dry, kick of bitterness, pretty green, weedy, dank, slightly raw, herbal, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, bitter orange, kumquat, orange blossom and floury bread with a drying, green finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Pretty flavourful stuff.
