Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, grass, fruity hops, sharp. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, sharp, grass, fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. ABV: 4.2(4.5)%. Clear dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, coffee, milk chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, milky chocolate, roasted, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20191011]

27/9/2024. Cask at St. Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Pours close to black with a frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, caramel, cherry, slightly soap edge. Medium sweetness, light to moderate roasted bitterness. Moderate body, light smooth mouthfeel, average to soft carbonation. Drying fruity finish. Decent drop, but lacked some body.

6/9/2024. Cask at the 37th Chappel Summer Beer Festival. Pours clear pale gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is grainy, citrus, sweaty, orange, straw. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, very soft carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish, but aroma wasn't great.

6/9/2024. Cask at the 37th Chappel Summer Beer Festival. Pours very slightly hazy red amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is buttery, caramel, fruity, sweet malts, biscuit, light spice. Quite sweet with light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish. Pretty decent.

Aroma is roasted, malty, lightly smoked, caramel, coconut, biscuit, vanilla, hint of plastic. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Smokey side was subtle, enhanced it nicely. This is well done.

22/8/2024. Cask at the 32nd East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival. Pours dark mahogany brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is hoppy, roasted, boozy, jammy, dried fruits, prune juice, ash, caramel, cocoa. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a tart edge. Medium body, oily watery, average to soft carbonation. Intriguing drop.

Cask at the Peterborough beer festival 2024. Black colour with a tan head. Ark and taste are chins sweet cherry. Smooth body.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge on 18th July 2024. Copper with shallow foam and spot lacing. Rich malty aroma. Nutty malts and leafy hops in-mouth, and a finish of hazelnut and candied fruits. Smooth mouthfeel and a light to medium body.
