Keg pint at The Railway Bar, Sligo. Slightly hazy golden colour, creamy white head. Aroma and flavour of citrus, hints of tropical fruits and pine - but just too little of everything. Thin mouthfeel, otherwise there is nothing wrong with it - but there are just too many of these insipid "session IPAs" these days.

Keg pint, as Lough Gill Anderson's Irish Ale, in The Railway Bar, Sligo. Deep reddish brown colour, large and creamy head, slightly off-white. Aroma and flavour of malts and butterscotch. Too much butterscotch (diacetyl), but drinkable.

$5.20 14.9 oz can, WW. Smell, without even putting up to my face, is heavy blueberry. Closer up you get some chocolate and coconut. Vanilla, if there, is buried. Flavor, on the other hand, has plenty of vanilla. Heft blueberry, chocolate brownie, caramel, cocnut, almost maple. Quite tasty.

440 ml can, from KWM Wines & Spirits. ABV is 5.5%. Deep reddish brown colour, large to moderate off-white to beige head. Distinct aroma of brown malts and roasted macadamia nuts, a hint of silage. Smooth mouthfeel. Pleasant flavour of nuts and brown malts, not too sweet, hints of prunes and earthy hops, easy drinking.

Very dark brown with quick fading head. The whiskey cones through in aroma and taste in a very clean and natural way. Really well integrated with the dark roasted malt bitterness. Slightly boozy. Very full.
