About
The finest German-style beer in the southeast flowed from the taps of the Chattanooga Brewing Company at the turn of the 20th century — that is, until Prohibition forced the brewery’s founding son, Charles Reif, to shutter the family business.
Nearly a century later, two crafty engineers brought together by their mutual love for beer embarked on an adventure to brew something great in the city they both love. With that, a new chapter for Chattanooga Brewing Company commenced, one rooted in the German-style ales and lagers that put its namesake on the map over 100 years ago.
Today, we continue to celebrate the pints poured before us, all while brewing a line of classic and specialty beers. We pride ourselves on serving food that’s as thought-out as our brews, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
Visit us in Chattanooga’s historic Southside and sample our beer or have a meal with friends. Bring your dog and hang out in our beautiful outdoor Biergarten, or join us on a Tuesday evening for Brewga, a yoga class and a pint of your choice. And don’t forget to stop by before or after a Chattanooga FC match! We’ll be cheering on the boys in blue alongside the Chattahooligans, and toasting with our deliciously drinkable Chattahooligan Kölsch!

Malty and rich as a good doppelbock should be, with alternating notes of caramel, cocoa, dried fruit, and toasted bread. Finishes with a modest bitterness and lingering hints of molasses. Nice pint.

Dark, roasty, and full but still light, with deep veins of mocha, char, pumpernickel, and floral bitterness, followed by a crisp, dry finish. Nice pint.

Canned@HBF18 Hotelroomtasting. Brown colour, no head. Aroma is fruity, floral, nutty, some toasted and mild earthy tones. Flavour is fruity, nutty, sweet malty, nectary and toffeeish with some mild toasted notes too. Rather pleasant brew.

On tap pours out brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nutty notes some bread malts. Taste is more of the nutty bread and some light grass hops.

Pint at Scotties on the River. Pours a clear, straw color, with a medium, foamy, white head. The aroma is hay, cane sugar, orange, and white bread. Sweet and sugary, with a light, easy bitterness. Crisp and clean.

Very much a session IPA, with a juicy grapefruit-papaya front and nary a malt to be found. Finishes dry and with the slightest hint of a pine bitterness.

General no-frills lager, grainy and semisweet, with a toasted undertone and a little diacetyl around the edges. Finishes with a bit of white bread and lemon from the yeast and a gentle floral hop bite. It is what it is.

Straightforward red ale, heavy on the biscuit malt but fairly unassuming otherwise. Mild notes of caramel, tea, apple, and a gentle, almost nonexistent bitterness on the finish. Doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but still a good spring pint.

Nice, hearty winter ale, full of friendly toffee and caramel notes backed by candied apple, toasted bread, and an appreciable piney bite on the back end. The description says it's spiced, but there's no real trace of any holiday seasoning, which isn't a negative in my book. Doesn't taste like a friggin' Yankee Candle, which is all I really ask for in a Winter Warmer. Tasty.

Mediocre brown, with a toasted caramel malt base, but lacking complexity, growing mild and yeasty on the back end with a slight roasty bitterness. Cocoa and pumpernickel float around the edges, but the finish comes across watery and bland, undercut by metallic notes and hints of black tea. Not enough character for a solid American brown.
