Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Black colour, brown mediumsized head. Aroma is caramel, liquorice, wood and some mild leathery notes. Flavour is nutty, fruity, some liquorice, toffee and mild roasted notes. Balanced, and actually quite nice Black IPA.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is nutty, mild roasted malts, some toffee, chocolate and mild coffee as well. Brilliant! Flavour is very similar, nutty and chocolaty with some toffee, leather and roasted notes kicking in. Beautifully balanced. This was probably my favourite beer over the 3,5 hectic days in Copenhagen during the CPH BF 2013.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Amber colour, mediumsized off-shite foamy head. Aroma is fruity, bready, floral with some mild earthy and herbal notes. Also some resin and wood to it. Flavour is floral, grassy, bready and quite herbal with some mild toffee as well. Floral and grassy aftertaste. Good body.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, mild herbal notes along with some floral and sweet malty notes. Flavour is quite similar, although being a bit thin. Balanced and refreshng flavour though.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and mildly nectary. Flavour is fruity, floral, some mild yeast and bready malts. Quite dry in the palate and very strong citrus in the aftertaste. Very smooth and balanced.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Very deep rubyish black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is liquorice, smoked wood, some mild toasted notes as well as some slight coffee and chocolate. Flavour is fruity, chocolaty, some liquorice, mild toffee as well as some coffee and mild burnt wet wooden/ashy notes. Smooth.

1L growler, sent from mwgroove23 (thank Mike), pours jet black with with a small tan head. Aroma is very intense, with notes of rum, wood, heavy roasted malt and caramel. Flavour is uber-rich, with loads of rich roasted malt, perfectly positioned rum notes, wood and a bit of vanilla. Extremely potent, with notes of rum and vanilla at the forefront, leaving a woody finish. Very viscous and slightly syrupy, but in no way cloying. Extremely complex and highly drinkable for a big barrel-aged impie. Awesome stuff.
