Hazy tan. Thin head. Woody, weedy aroma. Creamy body with very rich hops. Some clean, slightly biscuity malt backdrop. Good, with long, lingering bitterness. Really nice IPA.

Very dark brown. The aroma is very chocolatey, malted milk. The body is slightly thinner than the Rarer DOS, but with nice chocolate notes. Lots of full malty character. Decent, balance but not as stylish or intense as the Rarer.

Pretty much black. Rich, with lots of malt and a strong barrel accent. Very rich beer with lots of barrel on the palate, too. Rich - there’s that word again - syrupy sweetness. Light barbeque sauce stickiness.

On tap at the LCBS 10. Black pour with a big brown head. Sweet bourbon and roasted malt aromas. The taste was sweet and smooth. Loaded with bourbon, vanilla, caramel malt, chocolate, and just a hint of coffee. Dak was spot on at the tasting and on his rating. This stout does taste a lot like Older Viscosity.....
Revisited this beer after about a year in the bottle (thank you Maltzilla) last night. Adjusted my rating from 4.3 to 4.6. The bourbon has subsided some and delicious chocolate, caramel, and vanilla notes exploded in my mouth. What a great freakin’ stout...

Bottle thanks to Dak, shared with others at Paul and Ryan’s 5000th celebration. Poured near black with a grayish brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of roasted malts with a good amount of dark chocolate and a hint of backing whiskey. Flavor was a bit hotter with whiskey and had the same notes of roasted malts and dark chocolate with a hint of coffee.

On tap at Peg’s pouring very dark with tall firm mocha head. The aroma is pretty full with burnt malts, roasty malts, earthiness and a dash of chocolate. The taste has an initial earthy to slightly estery fruitiness with some dark fruit and then quickly loading up with burnt malts, dark malt roastiness and then chocolate that seems to grow into the finish. Nice robust Porter that I really dig, the wife did too.

on tap-pours a thin off white head and musky brown/orange color. Aroma is medium malt, then pumpkin. Taist is grainy/medium malt-earthy caramel, then pumpkin/nutmeg. Better warmer and becomes perfumy too.
