A tranditional british bw named after an Aphex Twin song? - that’s what’s up - lightly hazy ruby - soapy lace - nose has some light toffee and treacle, some bright fruity tones, some earthy hop notes - slick and lightly syrupy in the mouth - moderate toffee, a bit of sherry, dried cherries, a touch of fig - moderate bitterness and a light whiskey note late - a little hot in the finish - tad too young at the moment, but tasty.

A crazy dry and crisp bitter, with crackery malts, a strong mineral bite and a fruity, earthy hop tone - super sessionable and wonderfully bright - that’s all I have to say.

Tap at Hogshead - dark amber - nose is nutty, lightly smoky and even a little earthy/leafy/leathery - flavor is fairly dry, moderately bitter - some dry roastes nuttiness and a fair amount of smoke - finish has some light brown sugar, followed by a dry, whiskey-ish note similar to the one found in the esb - moderate, burton-ish mineral bite on the end - very tasty.

Collaboration with Hogshead? - on cask? - yes, please - kind of a hybrid of a dark British mild and a Schwarz - in fact, I would not be surprised if this is the same malt bill as Barge’s Mild - turbid dark brown - nose is light mineral, earthy, dry British maltiness, a bit of grassy noble hop character - very dry and moderately roasty - light acidity through the middle - light mineral note on the tail end works well with the grassy noble hop bite that comes at the end - very tasty.

Cask. Deep amber body. Frothy white head. Aroma of bread, toffee, fruit, spice, husky grain. Note of earthiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body that’s a bit chewy, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. Sweet toffee taste is washed away by a light bitterness that lingers into the finish.
