On tap at the brewery, as Old Bill Barley Wine. Pours a clear, orange color, with a small, fine, white head. The aroma is mahogany, caramel malts, oak, and light floral hops. Malty and sweet, yet pretty dry. Woody and sugary. Beautiful.

Proper pull from the engine at the brewery. Pours a beautiful, cascading, golden color, with an off-white head. The aroma is lemongrass, butterscotch, pine, and toffee. Malty, with a mellow, lovely bitterness. Smooth and clean palate. This is a simple, enjoyable pale.

Cask pint at the brewery - it’s Black Gold, so of course it pulls great - medium-bitter chocolate, moderate oak, vanilla, bourbon, smoke - moderate mineral and a coffee finish - I prefer the base beer, but this is still tasty.
