Can from East Derry Slightly hazy deep golden color with a huge frothy rocky white head that persists. Earthy citrus and light grass on the nose with bits of mineral water and faint bready toasty sweet malt. The flavor packs plenty of earth and citrus. Bready light cara maltiness. Moderate hop bitterness. Chris Shea told me not to rate this but hell if I can do what I’m told. Pretty good hoppy pale.

Draft at 7th Settlement guest tap. Darker brown in color with lasting head retention. Aroma is English malts, caramel, dried leaves, cereal grain. For the lighter gravity of this beer it is amazing how much flavor is here. The body doesn’t come off as watery or to thin either which is very impressive. The flavor is a good balance of malty backbone with just the slightest hint of a bittering hop. At 4 % you could drink large amounts. Pretty decent.

Keg pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is hazy golden yellow. Aroma is pine, citrus. Taste is pine, citrus, and resinous moderately bitter hops. Palate is light bodied with average to lively carbonation, finish is bitter citrus. Overall, a pretty straightforward IPA without anything surprising or standing out.

Bottle from the Brewery. Solid black color with a good sized frothy mocha head that persists. Rich chocolate cake batter dominates the nose with bits of molasses, roast and earth as well as a hint of wood. Rich cake batter with a bit more roasty flavor than the aroma suggested. Brown sugar, black licorice and hints of burnt sugar meld with suggestions of dark pitted fruit and wood tannin. Thick body with a light level of carbonation and a creamy rich light syrupy mouthfeel. Sweet rich decadent stout that I enjoyed sipping most of the night.

Sample at the brewery. Deep amber color with a decent off white head. Rich caramel and toffee maltiness with hints of earthy hops. Feels a bit bigger than its abv but damn tasty!

Keg pour at powder keg beer and chili festival. Aroma is fairly nondeScript but with a faint rubbery smell(?)--not very good. Appearance is light brown pour with mild sparkle, tiny head with poor retention and minimal lacing. Taste is basically mild bitter without provoking any other flavor. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, mild to lively carbonation. Overall, not too much here and not much to recommend.
