Description
Anchor is America’s first and oldest craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Today, our beers are handmade from an all-malt mash in our traditional copper brewhouse. Our process combines the time-honored art of classical craft brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods.

On tap at Craft Beer Oasis, Cewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Chocolate and dark fruits to the fore in the aroma. In the mouth it is creamy with a real mix of flavours, liquorice, roasts malts, dark chocolate, and hints of spices. Some bitter coffee grounds come into the equation later on. Finish is bitter with a warming flow inside. This is a classic porter.

Dark beer, thick head. Smells malty with spices. Cloves and cinnamon. The Christmas smell. Flavour follows suit. Loads of spice up front, malt, some caramel, a hint of chocolate. A touch of boozy warmth. Very drinkable. A proper Christmas beer.

(Bottle) Paler amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of mango, grapefruit, mandarin, passion-fruit, papaya, honey and herbal, floral hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with mango, grapefruit peel, passion-fruit, papaya, honey and a generous citric, piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced IPA. Nice one.
