Had this at Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford, Saturday 19th October 2013 Appearance was hazy mid gold in colour just a little warm temperature wise. In the mouth this was a little artificial sweet tasting and also a bit thin and a bit plasticcy. This wasn’t really my thing. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

On gravity at Factoberfest, Bristol, September 2013. Hazy, deep amber with a decent, off-white head. Citrus and stone fruits, some sweetness, cereal malts and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours clear amber with no head. Orange and spicy hop aromas, lots of caramel and nuts also. More of the same on the taste, with a toffee sweetness. Decent.

Cask at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear reddish brown with thin crema head. Nose is nutty and brown malt. Tastes like a bitter! Decent balance. Flat. Not bad.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Copper body with a thin beige head. Light lacing marks. Weak aroma of caramel, pear and grass. Flavour seems diluted - faint caramel, grass and lime. Thin body with a watery mouthfeel. Flat carbonation. Not great - tastes like 2/3 beer mixed with 1/3 water.

Cask @ Bacchus, Newcastle [010313]
Copper red, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft toffee, light carfamel, soft citrus masked a bit by the toffee
Taste of grassy and citrus hops, creamy caramel, soft toffee, 50/50 malt-hop flavour
Palate - Medium body. Finish - fairly bitter hop, caramel malt, hint of caramelised orange
Overall - Decent, but i’m liking the Laika (!) more
