[Gravity cask at Chippenham Beer Festival 2009] Sticky mouthfeel, dusty & wheaty aroma, some grapefruit and an unpleasantly bitter finish. Pretty poor.

Cask-conditioned at the Miners Arms, Whitecroft, Gloucestershire 13/4/09. Copper coloured with a slight white head. Sweet caramel and red fruit aroma. Flavour was also sweet, with some spicy hops and a short bitter finish. Ok.

500ml bottle from Waitrose, Stroud. Deep gold in colour with a short-lived white head and slight carbonation. Aroma of oranges and red fruit with some refreshing floral hops. Easy drinking with tonnes of summer fruits, some light biscuit malt backbone and a great bitter finish. Very good.

Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.Clear medium amber (copper) color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light hoppy, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Bitternes is malt bittter and orange shell bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (030508)

[i] [b] Cask, gravity at the Kings Arms Beer Festival, Kidlington, Oxon 28-03-08 [/i] [/b] Pours dark brown with a very small white head. There is a god rush of bitterness that sits in a layer across the roof of my mouth, very roasty a bit rough around the edges at times but very likeable, finishes fruity and slightly drying. I quite liked this.

Cask (handpump) @ Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham B5, UK. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruit, light to moderate hoppy, lemon. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to soft to flat. (140108)

Cask handpull at Thomas Rigby’s, Liverpool. Pale chestnut colour with lasting beige head. Lovely malty beer with great depth. Dry malt. Some hop on end. Delivers a crisp finish. Good lacing down the glass shows the condition. Well put together beer.
