Description
The Referend Bier Blendery practices the neglected art of waiting, of letting nature run its course, to produce a beer of depth and character inimitable through technological shortcuts or chemical interference. These beers are:
-100% spontaneously fermented
-no yeast cultures are added at any point in the process
-Fermented and matured in oak barrels
-neutral oak imparts little flavor and allows the beer to breathe
-Unfiltered, Unpasteurized, Unsweetened to sustain the beer's natural essence
-Built for posterity
-bottles are capable of decades of aging
-Acidic and complex (not basic.)

Beach beer. So refreshing. Even on a gusty January afternoon.

Bottle split at L6, thanks to Leighton ... rake 26,000 ... 28/11/18. Reddish orange with a limited crimson covering. Nose is tangy raspberries, funk, damp wood, berry pips, hay bale. Taste comprises cherry skins, vanilla oak, wood must, funk dusting, lemon rind, berry pips, sweet and sour vibes. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, semi drying close with balanced acidity. Decent but lacks the wow of some of their other offerings.

Can at home in Hackney - big thanks to James, Sander and Nellie! Pours unclear, pale yellow with a fluffy white head that settles out quickly. Clean and tart, with nice lemony acidity, pear, melon. Light bodied with delicate, spritzy carbonation. Dry finish, tart, more mellow citric bite, a little wheat bread, mild oaky dryness. Quick aftertaste. Lovely beer.
