Bottle 750ml. @ Halloween Tasting by cgarvieuk.Clear medium orange color with a large to huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white yellow head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, sweet orange - citrus. moderate yeasty, overriped fruit, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101030]

Bottle at Craigs big Edinburgh tasting, this bottle courtesy of ’Craig’, thanks mate. Shared in company of Craig, Stella, Jan, Charlotte, Fritz and Loz 30.10.10 Hazy amber pour with a slight orangeyness also in looks and a white bubbly head. Bit boozy, very sweet, some bitterness, bit sticky. I found this fine but nothing special, yes there were hops and a distinct maltiness but it never stood out from the crowd as I hoped it would. Bottled, halloween tasting @ cgarvieuk. Dark golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, slightly sour, bit of candy sugar. Taste is sweet malted, little alcohol burn, fruity.

Bottle, Batch 57. Pours with a hazed amber brown body and a resilient bone colored head that leaves great lace. Aroma is quite nice. It features horseblanket, a nice phenolic spice note, light sourness/lactic acid, plums, figs, prunes, vanilla, rye, jam. Vinous. Really nice and bright aroma. Flavor is slightly lactic, funky, and very fruity, wine notes, plums, cherries, tons of phenolics. Nice and dry with a sharp fruitiness in the finish. Lively bubbles. Really well done brett beer!

750 ml from Country Club. I ahd been looking since early summer for this one and it pops up at the nearest liquor store. Nose of brown sugar, nuttiness, and some prunes. Hazy copper with a huge yellow-beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet with a moderate amount of contrasting bitterness, raisins, and some alcohol warmth. Different take on a barleywine but pretty tasty.

Bottle from a generous trader. Pours orange yellow with a white head. Farmhouse nose of grass, sour wheat, yeast and lemon zest. Taste of peel, lemon zest and sour wheat. Very tart and refreshing.

Bottle (Batch 55). Appears to be vastly over carbonated. Pours with a huge white head over a slightly hazy golden body. Aroma of apple, a bit of belgian yeast esters (odd), grainy, hoppy, grassy and spicy. Taste is dry, bitter, spicy and grassy hops. Very lively bubbles, over carbonated. Dry. Bland, but not bad at all.

On tap at Blue Palm’s 2nd Anniversary. Pours a reddish brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of apple, chocolate, belgian yeast esters. Taste is lightly tart, apple, molasses, fruity, herbal with a mildly bitter finish. Medium bubbles.

Bottle shared a the opening night of the 2010 RBSG. Poured a very cloudy pale gold/yellow with a white head that lasted. Aroma aroma had tart fruits with a bit of citrus (lemon) and some wheat notes as well. Also picked up a bit of funk from the aroma. Flavor had tart fruits with a hint of lemon and sweet grains. There was a bit of funk here on the tongue as well but I thought it melded nicely with the beer.
