Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

A very smooth WCIPA with a novel combination of aromas including honey, pine, coriander and tangerine. There is some nice tart citrus in the mouth but its a little nondescript.

Can. Nearly clear gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of fresh grass clippings and white grapes with some lime and kumquat peel as well as light bread. Not quite dry at the end but quite bitter. Fruity and grassy notes fade rather than pop at the end. Pretty good.

Can. Gold with a cm of loosish white head. Aroma of grapefruit, hints of mango skin, pine, light bread. Just medium bodied. Rather plainly sweet but there is a little lusciousness to the pale malt. Hop aromatics ooze out from there and the finish is quite bitter. It's a good rendition of the tasty yet kind of uncharacterful type of WCIPA. Which is what they were going for.

A big, fruity aroma with mango, passionfruit, grapefruit and fluffy white bread. Has a nice, soft citrus flavour that's balanced by the tropical notes. The only criticism is that it's a bit short.

An old school WCIPA with pine needles, spearmint, stone fruit, orange peel, pineapple and bread. I wouldn't mind just a little more bitterness to really bring it home, but overall a very nice drop.

Can. Black with a brown head that fades to a fat coat. Aroma of mocha, roast, singed dark sugars. Only medium bodied. Sweet at first but coffee and bitterness seem to dry things out. Delicate lightly roasted coffee flavour is lovely; roast and mildly spiced bitterness linger for ages. Hints of Indian sweets. Dangerously drinkable. Very nice, if slightly too polished for my tastes.
