Keg at Pigs Ear '21, day two, 01/12/21. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is big on roast malts, dark fruit rinds, charr, spice, bitter chocolate. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, charr, vanilla splash, dark chocolate, coffee, trace of spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost offered. Decent.

Keg at the pigs ear beer festival 2021.a thick black brown coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Aroma is big hot alcohol, apple cake, spicy Jamaica cake, coconut. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, thick, chewy, boozy fruit cake, coconut, spicy cola cubes, ginger, nutmeg. Palate is semi sweet, thick, highish carbonation. Boozy.

Pours unclear yellow, no real head. Scent is intense, burnt rubber, sweat, pretty bad . Taste is sharp, bit acidic, plastic (burnt plastic) , vinegar. Very, very off to me.

Pastry stout by New Zealand’s best known craft brewer in collaboration with Poland’s Pinta, at Billie’s Craft Beer Fest. Medium thick, moussy, stable, yellowish beige head on an ink black beer. Intense nose: cocoa, orange peel, ripe watermelon, hot chocolate sauce, white rum, cappuccino. Sweet, even sticky onset, fig compote and date jam notes, softish carb, very full, syrupy body; deeply chocolatey middle, chocolate sauce with hazelnutty, almondy and toffeeish edges, mild but important roasty coffee bitterness towards the end, spiced up with aspects of orange peel and rum-like, warming alcohol, with that unusual watermelon aroma returning retronasally. Spicy and pungent, but well-structured and enjoyable as a slow sipper.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black, beige head. Aroma of chocolate brownie. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Milk chocolate and saccharine, notes of coffee and vanilla. Finishes with aching chemical sweetness. Another stout for kids. I guess lactose and vanilla will destroy any beer.

Noire foncée, col blanc-cassé/café au lait.
Arôme est malté, cacao, petite touche orange, raisin secs rétro - petite note de lactose. Pas vraiment noté l'effet des grains de pavot.
Palais est malté assez marqué, petite note sèche - chocolaté avec un effet orangette-fruité assez dominant, lactose se fait plus en retrait, épaisseur des raisins secs. Un peu classique avec ce côté gros stout américain, fini sec. Idem ici, pas de note de pavot.

Arôme sur un bouquet fleuri-fruité entre cassis, arbuste avec un nez âpre de baies qui arrivent en rétro-nasal.
Palais présente une fine touche 'sourness' mûre et cassis - fruité bien là avec un léger fini râpeux avec une petite note de citronné et pointe d'acidité de baies.
