27/9/2018. Cask at the St.Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2018. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, light spice, hop, hint of butterscotch, marmalade and flowers. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Fair.

[ As Castlegate Towy Gold ].
ABV: 4.4%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, moderate hoppy, fruity hops, sweet hops, hop oil notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, sweet malt, fruity malt, fruity hops, sweet hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171013]

Cask (gravity) @ 33th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2016, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Castlegate Merlins Own ].Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, pale malt, fruity malt, toasted, moderate hoppy, citrus, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, pale malt, fruity malt, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20161130] 6-3-7-3-13

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 22 April 2017. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Hedgerow fruits, some leafy hops, biscuity malts and a pleasantly bitter finish. Good.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2016 - London. Pours Clear gold with a creamy, white head. Pale grains in the nose, lemon peel, hay. Light sweet flavour with more citric hops, pale grains, pine needles, minerals. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with some grassy bitterness, pale grai husk, lemon rind. Not bad.

Cask gravity at the pigs ear beer fest 2016. A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is semi sweet grassy hop, nutty malts, . Flavour is composed of semi sweet tangerine, floral citrus, dirty pale grains, little pithy citrus. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, semi dry in the finish. Not bad gold.
