Description
Oldskool likes to brew beers in a new format. A focus on old beertypes with pure love for the classic & modern hops. This combination will create balanced beers that ought to be enjoyed slowly. At first the focus will be on old beertypes with a love for the German and British hops. The main goal of Oldskool is to educate beerlovers, breweries, pub owners and liquor shop owners with the message that it is possible to brew great quality beer with the right people and the right ingredients. For regular consumers we like to point out there is a lot more out there than a regular Duvel or an artificially sweetened Bockbeer.
Hence all OLDSKOOL beers are brewed: According to the Bayerisch Reinheitsgebot, without any additional sugars/ spices / acid; At a selected Dutch location; Brewed by a different expert every time; With the recipe, enthusiasm and beerlove from one of the youngest International Beersommeliers in the world, Dennis Kort.

330ml bottle [#407]. Cloudy amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, superbly lasting, moderately lacing, barely white head. Yeasty spicy, slightly phenolic, fruity aroma, hints of apricot and peach, hoppy overtones with potatoe and pineapple touch. Taste is fruity hoppy, hints of apricot and peach with slightly artificial fruit gum (Pfirsichringe) touch, some yeast spiciness, developing hop bitterness; later somehow cleaner, more explicit and less artificial peach flavours. The quality of this whole Oldskool Weizenbock series is entirely erratic so far.

330ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey, deep golden to amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, off-white head, some hazy cords below the head. Fruity aroma, notes of banana, pear and peach, more estery than hoppy in character. Taste is moderately sweet fruity, initially banana, pear and peach again, later additionally minimally peppery spicy and fruity hoppy with hints of orange, pure banana in the finish. Well balanced and clean - good.

Hazy amber golden colour, cream head. Fruity aroma, tropical fruits, pasion fruit, mango, banana, light wheat and yeast. Bitter flavour, quite fruity, sweet notes, banana, light pine. Bitter finish, hops, passion fruit, lingering banana. Nice! Reminds me of Crime Passionnel (which isn’t a bad thing, obviously).
