Description
Oldskool likes to brew beers in a new format. A focus on old beertypes with pure love for the classic & modern hops. This combination will create balanced beers that ought to be enjoyed slowly. At first the focus will be on old beertypes with a love for the German and British hops. The main goal of Oldskool is to educate beerlovers, breweries, pub owners and liquor shop owners with the message that it is possible to brew great quality beer with the right people and the right ingredients. For regular consumers we like to point out there is a lot more out there than a regular Duvel or an artificially sweetened Bockbeer.

Hence all OLDSKOOL beers are brewed: According to the Bayerisch Reinheitsgebot, without any additional sugars/ spices / acid; At a selected Dutch location; Brewed by a different expert every time; With the recipe, enthusiasm and beerlove from one of the youngest International Beersommeliers in the world, Dennis Kort.

On tap at the Groningen Bierfestival. Light unclear in the glass, mighty head. Yeast and banana on the nose. Tastes sweet banana, yeast, chewing gum. Low bitterness to the end. One of the highlights at the festival in my opinion.

Bottle (#87 handwritten number) @ home. Hazy orange color, full sized decently lasting white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, typical weizen yeast flavor, apple-peel, fruits, lightly banana. Somewhat bitter towards the end. Nice beer.

33L bottle at home, golden coloured beer with a medium white head, aroma is a bit citrus, taste is the same, but the thing that makes this beer so different than I have had the past few weeks is the texture, the creamy texture is just awesome.

Tap @ Van Moll. Clear golden yellow to orange colour with a small, vast white head. Smells some banana, coriander, herbs, sweet, corn. Tastes sweet, banana, the brown spots on a banana, some herbs. Not what I like. Medium body, nice carbo.

Tap @ Eindhoven, small sample. Hazy golden color, medium frothy white head. Aroma of soft grassy and flowery hop, bit malt. Bit bitter, bit dry. More of a Dutch Pale Ale. Easy to drink, refreshing. Decent.

Sampled from bottle @ Eindhovens Bierfestival. Opaque yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, nicely bitter, I miss the fruityness. It’s more like a bitter blond imo. Not bad but it doesn’t stand out, basically one of so many. Decent nonetheless.
