Description
The Microbrewery of Thessaloniki is the first Microbrewery in Thessaloniki. We are 4 friends and old classmates, Antonis, Nikos, Thomas and Lina. Antonis is a chemist and the rest of us are Agronomists-Food Technologists. We are and will remain young because we want to produce real beer! Our goal is to spread the culture of beer in Greece, but also the concept of microbrewery. We want to "educate" the public about beer and introduce it to new flavors and aromas. Our goal is for each of our beers to be distinguished for its special aromas and flavors. We want Ali to be established as the local beer of Thessaloniki.

0.33lt bottle @home (B.B. 7/2015, but opened today.) Bought from local store due to a visit in Thessaloniki, for a gig with my band. I had to carry it in a bag full of ice all the way to Athens to keep it fresh. Pours almost opaque amber/dark orange, with big off-white head. Poor aromas, medium body, bitter-sour finish and aftertaste. Heavy presence of citrus and resin hops, mild presence of malt, mostly bread tones. Definitely needs improvement, non the less o.k. for a first attempt.

Bottle @home (BB 6/2015 but opened today). Well, there’s an interesting story behind this bottle. Since it’s fresh and unpasteurized, I had to carry it while traveling by train, all the way from Thessaloniki to Athens, in a bag full of ice! Bought it during a local visit due to a gig I had with my band, just a few weeks after it was first released in the market (lucky me!) Pours hazy orange with rich off-white head. Pale, medium to full body, chunky particles. Rich fruity and malty aromas and, surprisingly enough, some hints of smokiness. Slightly dry and sweet/spicy finish. Interesting aromas of summer fruits and hints of sourness. A very good start for Ali Microbrewery.
