Murky light amber brown colour, tall foamy off-white head, mostly diminishing, sticky lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel (a lot), toasted, earthy, yeasty. Taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee. Sweetbitter aftertaste, malty and burned caramel in the finish, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, bit messy impression, decent though.

Bottle at home. Pours deep amber, nose is smoky, caramel, germoline, taste is sweet caramel, dry, light smoke.

Bottle shared by Craftmember, cheers! Strong whisky beer with coarse, moussy, pale greyish white head, quite stable, misty orangey amber colour with slight brownish hue. Strong aroma of natural peat rather than the iodine I expected, brine, dried orange peel, caramel, bitter honey, biscuit, apricot, dried leaves, peanut. Soft fruity onset, rounded, with some peach and orange sweetishness, basic sourishness, very light salty touch, supple thick caramelly malt sweetness, phenolic spiciness all around but manageable and not disturbing, pairing with the retronasal, pure peat aromas at the back, while a subtle hop bitterness drying the finish along with quite strong, whisky-like alcohol, lasting long and very warming without truly burning. Interesting, probably the best ’peated beer’ I had so far, feels like a peated barley wine. Nice work!

On tap at ’Café Hesp’. Clear, reddish amber, tan to white head. Malty, heavily peaty aroma of peat, iodine and some caramel. Malty, heavily peaty taste of peat, iodine and some caramel, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, heavily peaty finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Very special, but quite nice, although totally unbalanced.

Thick yellowish beige head, dense, over opaque brown beer. Alcoholic, liqueurish nose, biscuit, liquorice, plywood, dark malts, dried dark fruit. Wryish, breadcrust, underlying malty sweetness; again dried fruit - figs maybe. Slight coffeecream flavour. Very spritzy carbonation, well-bodied, slick to viscous, faint alcoholwarming. Short aftertaste initially. Lame-ish for a ’Quadrupel’ (whatever that might be, but it sounds big).

Thick, dense yellowish head over copperish orange beer. Mandarine, citrusmarmalade, cakebottom, rainwater, but also faintly sea/miineral smell. Bitter, citruspeel, lupulinebomb, really dry. Underneath however, a distinct caramelly-cakey sweetness. Finihs is dry-hoppy-bitter. Seems rather well-bodied, and completely hopoil-determined. Well-rounded final flavours. Quite good IPA.

Good, fluffy off-white head, with shards of lace over finely carbonated copperish golden beer, faint haze. Herbal, garden herbs, dry hops. Bit of banana/chewing gum. Toasted malts, scorched sugar, and again some herbal traits. Caramel, going into a sweetish finish. Bit burning MF, light to medium bodied, slick. Anything but exciting, the frater.

Huge brownish cream head over faintly veiled orange-amber beer; shards of lace. Phenolic nose, tarr, gouache, malts. Very smoked-tarry-phenolic; but not much behind it. There are sweet malts present, but not the kind of truckload one might expect at 11%ABV. Bit of banana, orange. Sweetness increases gradually. Dry-out effect, but more in the throat than on the frontteeth. Medium to well-bodied, quite slick-oily. Too much sugar, not enough malts. Might have turned out better.

Bottle shared at home. Clear amber with small off white head. Sweet grains, walnuts, light curry, cardboard, caramel, tea, honey. Over medium sweet and light herbal finish. Medium bodied with slick feel and quite some carbonation.
