Re-rate 8/15/10: Bottle. Dark orange to brown color, cloudy, with a huge white head. Estery aroma with fruits and clove, yeast, citrus hints and some perfumy notes. Sweetish wheaty flavor with fruits, light spiciness, bread, light candy/bubblegum notes and a drier, rather bitter finish, with spicy hops. Medium-bodied. Not a great Hefeweizen but definitely easy-drinking. The hoppy finish is a bit out of place here. 6/4/6/3/13=3.2

Re-rate 10/8/08: Bottle. A lovely cloudy golden color with a huge shaving foam-like white head that refuses to leave. Aroma of fruits (a bit of banana in there), yeast, and some spiciness. Flavor starts wheaty and sweetish with quite a bit of citrus (lemon mostly), spicy notes and a finish that is quite bitter for the style. Medium-bodied. Slightly too bitter in the finish, but still a pleasant refreshing wheat beer. 6/4/6/3/13=3.2

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy pale yellow color. Fruity and wheaty aroma with some banana and a bit of clove. Sweet wheaty flavor with yeast, lots of banana and a bit of spice. A bit of acidity mixed with a mild touch of bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. A very nice weissbier. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5

Re-rate 8/11/10: Bottle. Clear golden with a slowly-diminishing medium white head. Aroma of grains, hay, some bread and some noble hops. Flavor starts with sweetish bready malt, light graininess and finishes dry and crisp with bitter spicy, grassy, slightly herbal hops and light notes of citrus. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Quite a well-made Pilsener. 6/3/7/3/13=3.2

Re-rate 9/28/08: Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma has light yeasty notes, some butterscotch and faint hoppiness. Sweetish malty flavor with light diacetyl notes, a a mildly bitter finish with some hops. Medium-bodied. Slightly too buttery but still not bad. 6/3/6/3/13=3.1

Re-rate 11/5/07: Bottle. Slightly hazy golden color. Aroma of grassy hops, some malt, and a bit of fruits. Flavor starts with some malt sweetness and maybe a hint of caramel. Ends with a long, bitter, hoppy finish. Light to medium body. I’m very surprised, but this tastes better to me now, at home, from a bottle, than when I’ve had it on tap at the brewpub. It also seems more German Pilsener-ish now. Nicely done! 6/3/7/3/14=3.3

Draught sample at the the brewpub. Clear golden with a white head. Hoppy aroma, a bit grassy and with a bit of malt. Malty sweetish flavor with a rather bitter hoppy finish. Body is a bit too light. OK but nothing more. Also, I’m not absolutely sure this should be categorized as a "Classic German Pilsener" since it has a bit too much malt character, but the brewer is German and the hops are German, so what the hell. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8
