Dark brown. Very toasty nose with hints of roast and nutty complexity. A little bit watery and thin. The roast is cheap coffee with chocolate overtones.

First time I had this was in Miami and it was no good, like just about everything from that (now defunct) branch. Re-rate from Honolulu: Effervescent hazy blonde. Has a decent, bready pale malt aroma and flavour. Good balancing alcihol, nice example.

re-rate: a little drier, cleaner than last visit. Upgraded score accordingly. old rate: Dark tan colour and cloudy. Big banana with light spice and autolyzed yeast. Sweet and soft with an appley, clovey character. Underpinning of sweet malt and a hint of wheaty tartness. The finish is a bit cloying. I respect where they’re going here but I don’t know that I like it.

First time I had this at the now-defunct Miami location, it was positively awful. I re-rated it in Honolulu. Slight haze, light gold, highly effervescent. Has a moderate hop nose and bitterness, with well-balanced pale malt base. Touch of yeast in the finish. Good. Just shows how far behind GB’s standards that Miami branch really was.

.5 L draft at the Gordon Biersch Power and Light District - Kansas City. This was enjoyed on the patio on a nice summer afternoon with people watching a plenty (Rock Fest was that day - I’m glad I don’t have daughters. Seriously). Pour is cloudy cheddar cheese [tm] orange with a bunch of floaties and a pretty white head. Aroma of banana, wheat and bubble gum. Had a pretty generic "Hefe" nose. Taste reveals some citrus tartness, then the banana, wheat and bubble gum. Some spice and clove also is evident. Palate is medium, though still crisp and refreshing. This was a nice warm day patio beer.m

12 oz bottle from Ralphs Palm Springs; Nose of banana esters, wheat, and bubble gum; cloudy copper orange with a big yellowish head; flavor of slight tartness, corriander and cloves, and pepperiness; finish is peppery. Decent Hefe!

Draft at WCBF 2008. Light grassy hop aroma. Gold color with white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Flavor is pale malt dominated by grassy hop. A very good pilsner (so why is it classed as premium lager?).

Another good bready fragrance on a brew. On the palate its friendly at first, then it turns on you at the end with a near acrid character. Some bitter pilsner linger in the finish. A little coarse.

On tap at Gordon Biersch New Orleans location, Pours out a light amber topped with a off white head. A light aroma of smoke and some malt. Tast of more malt and not much smoke. Just SO SO.
