On tap at Kick. It pours a murky brown body under a small, light beige head. There’s chocolatey roasted malts on the nose, some cold coffee and a pleasant piney, grassy touch. Some caramel. It’s quite dry on the palate, with a soft carbonation and some warmth. Medium to full body. Perhaps a bit too much bitterness initially, with roasted malts and some chocolate and coffee. Lasting finish which is quite balanced, but the piney hops lasts the longest. I needed a couple of sips to fully appreciate this one, but half ways down the glass I decided one more would be fine. 140504

On tap at Cafe Sara. An unclear orange colored beer with a finger thick off-white head. The aroma is mostly citrusy and peachy, with a little malty sugary touch. Grapefruit notes and some dms hints. It’s lightly sweet on the palate, full bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Grapefruit, pine cones and some citrus peel in the flavor. A bit low on bitterness. Lasting finish. Not the most impressive Veholt beer. 140503

On tap at Cafe Sara. An unclear, orange colored beer with a dense finger thick white head. Cute lacings. A touch of diacetyl and dms in the aroma. Fine hop profile though. Pretty malty flavor, with some diacetyl. Nice hoppy touch though, with a pleasant bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Bitter, malty finish. Far from my favorite Veholt. 140501

On tap @ Kick. Pitch black body with a big, lacing beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, lots of coffee and a hint of pine. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, lots of coffee, slightly fruity and pleasant bitterness. Fine body and long, smooth aftertaste. A really, really nice and well made no-nonsense porter.

On tap @ Kick. Unclear deep golden orange body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is nice but weak with malt and fruit. Flavor is light malty, bread, fruit and slightly sour with a bitter finish. Thin body and medium aftertaste. This one reminds me a of a typical decent British bitter that’s quite nice fresh, but unfortunately become a bit sour much too early. Probably nice and refreshing when fresh but this is not particular impressive anymore.

On tap @ Kick. Unclear dark orange body with an off-white head. Nice aroma of malt and citric fruit like peach. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel, citric fruit, some pine and good balance bitterness. Fine body with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. A very nice and refreshing IPA with balanced malt and a bit weak carbonation. The slightly lower alcohol makes this a bit more balanced than Humlehelvete IMO.

On tap at Kick. It pours a sexy, black body under a finger thick tan head. Roasted aroma with licorice and bonfire. There’s a pleasant sweetness in the flavor, with licorice and some bonfire and roasted malts. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Dry. Lasting roasted finish with licorice and some sweetness and molasses hints. Pretty pleasant this one. 140426

200ml from tap, as Påskeporter 5.8 % abv, at Café Sara. Patchy tan-coloured to the surface. Devil black body. Mid-sweet, earthy malts on the nose with hints of chocolate. Mid-sweet flavours of cocoa powder, liquorice and chocolate. Roasted bittersweet finish. Smooth in the mouth. Quite easy to drink. Pretty nice without further enthusiasm (Oslo 22.04.2014).

200ml, draught from the Ølbrett menu at Café Sara. The body colour was grey-golden and cloudy. Filmy layer. Spotty lacing down the glass. Aroma of peach and grassy hops. Fruity flavours of orange and peach. Dry bitter endnotes. A little mealy to the palate. Medium bodied. Pretty decent pale ale (Oslo 22.04.2014).
