Can from Legacy LRS, Vancouver
Murky dull blond colour. Pungent aroma of citrus fruits. Smooth mouthfeel, just lightly chalky and lightly sweet; the malt base has nice crackery qualities; the hopping is very juicy, strong citrus character, hint of mango, mild piney hops too, and more bitterness than most NE IPAs (hence better).
Very good.

Draught at Malone's Urban Drinkery, Vancouver, January 2012, as Russell Munich Eisbock, 9.5% ABV
Amber color, bright, with persistent creamy head. It has a light malt and caramel aroma. Ordinary flavor of Amber Ale, with a mediocre body strength, a light nutty touch, and strong bitterness. Not an Eisbock.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of grainy pale malt, caramel, mango, muddled citrus and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy pale malt, butter, mango, guava and muddled citrus with herbal hops in a dry finish. Medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. A little bland, but not terrible.

On tap. Pours a clear red-amber with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Mild, sweet aroma of toasted malt, caramel, raisin and light peat. Sweet flavour of grainy malt, caramel, toffee and light smoke with a dry finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation. Not bad, but there was nothing angry about this one.
