Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
A nice blond Ale, dry, with lean malt flavor, and good hopping; citrus character, also lightly grassy.

Bottle from Legacy. Amber and quite hazy, with a bubbly head. The aroma is older, oxidized hop, even though this beer hasn’t been on the market long. So there’s a brightness issue. The taste is mid-90s APA, with fairly chewy crystal malts, a bit of biscuit, and quite a bit of piney hop with pithy bitterness. A little too old-fashioned for me.

650 ml bottle. Pours an opaque, dark brown with a medium, tan head that laces. Spicy aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate, roasted malt, nuts and a hint of vanilla. Very spicy flavour of nutmeg, cinnamon, roasted malt, dark chocolate, nuts and vanilla with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. A good Winter Seasonal beer, if you like spice!

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 Sunday tasting at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell. Pours clear amber with a foamy white head. Moderately sweet, lightly oxidised, with some dry and grainy bread, toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with slight chocolate notes, earthy bitterness and old toffee. OK.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear, medium orange with full white head. Aroma has a predominant fruity sweet citrus hop aroma with slight pineapple. Also comes through in the taste along with some resinous hops and subtle caramel malt in the background. Easily my favourite from Russell Brewing.

A hazed amber ale with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, light sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light oxidation, honey. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light floral c-hops, a bit old.

Bottle - Lots of Christmas spice and chocolaty roast. Jet black brown with a decent light beige head. Light roast and some spice. Tastes much lighter and much more balanced that it’s taste.

Bottle from Toby’s, North Vancouver
Hazy orange-amber color with compact generous head. The aroma comes in waves; there are fruity hops, hop resins, light musk, and fudgy caramel. Lean mouthfeel, soft; the flavor has a caramel base, and on top of that a potent hopping, with plenty of hop resins, orangey fruitiness and a tropical touch; the final is just a bit too bitter.
Excellent.
