Draft - Toast and dark roast. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Dark roast and some toast with a long finish. A bit robust for the style, would have called this a robust Porter.

Coffee Blonde from Kulshan Brewing Company

On tap at Kulshan, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by the roasted coffee beans. The coffee isn't completely enrapturing, but it doesn't tend to outweigh everything else. Flavour follows suit, with dry toasted espresso beans and biscuity malt buried underneath. Nothing special, but an easy drinking dry, coffee Blonde.

Fresh Hop Pale Ale from Kulshan Brewing Company

On tap at Kulshan K2, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh leafy hops, some citrus and biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp and leafy in the hop department, with some grassiness in there. Dry, crisp crackery malt base. Nicely constructed and very thirst-quenching. Good stuff.

On tap at Kulshan, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of earthy notes, a little nutmeg and spicy rye. Flavour is similar, with lots of dry earthy notes, light nutmeg and spicy rye. Dry finish, with a seemingly pumpkin-y quality. Uninteresting overall.

On tap at Kulshan K2, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and some bitter dry roast. Flavour is likewise very dry, with toasted malt and dry roast upfront. Maybe a little espresso in there too. Fairly robust for the style and well-structured. Solid.

On tap at Kulshan K2, pours a hazy dark copper with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and light toasted nuts. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted bready malt, a hint of caramel and a little nuttiness. Nothing special but pleasant enough.

Draught at the brewery
Amber color, bright. Smelly hops, in a positive way, armpit, hop bag, pine resins. Strong body, strong malt flavor, moderately sweet, biscuity, and then one extreme resiny hopping follows, candies and caramel too, piney, aggressive. More floral and hop leaves in the final, I’m almost chewing those dry hopping leaves.
Hence the malt was a good choice to counterattack this hop. Quite drinkable too.

Draught at the brewery, on nitro
Mahogany color with thick nitro head. The malt has some biscuity quality; nutty; the nitro muffles this beer too much; light fruity esters add some complexity to an otherwise simple Amber Ale; quite dry in the finish, metallic too.

Draft - Earthy hops and some vegetal notes. Clear golden Amber with a small white head. Earthy hops, touch herbal and a bit of a bitte finish.

Draft - Tonsof sweet caramel and leafy hops. Clear amber gold with a small white head. Sweet caramel, bitter hops to balance and a dry finish. A little rough around the edges, but OK.
