Dark brown in colour watery at the edges with a minimal light brown soapy head. Aroma of faint nuts, coffee, roasted malt and a small amount of sweetness. Medium-bodied at most; Strong bitterness follwed by an astringency that lasts for a while. Some nuttiness on the palate while a bit of roasted malt hits and remains bitter. Overall, a decent beer-a bit too watery and somewhat bland...but not too bad for a small brewpub! I had this pint on draught at the Merrifield, Virginia location on 30-April-2004 with my good friend Jon (JonR888710).
