Pint pour at the Merrifield location. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was pleasant bubblegum. Wheat. Sweet malts. Tasty and easy to drink.

Keg at the brewpub, 7/13/16. Hazy orange, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt. The taste is toasted malt and herbal hops. Thin bodied, high carbonation, crisp.

Keg at the brewpub, 7/13/16. Hazy pale yellow, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of banana, yeast, orange, coriander. The taste is wheat, coriander, banana. Medium bodied,moderate carbonation. More like a hefe.

16 oz pour on draft at Sweetwater Tavern Merrifield. Served in a shaker pint. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of cheap whiskey and oak. Tastes of cheap whiskey, oak, dark fruit. Chocolate and roasty notes from the base beer get lost from the whiskey. Medium-light body with a dry finish. I like the base beer but the barrel aging doesn’t really work well for this. Not sure how long this was in barrels but maybe this was barrel aged for too long.

4-5 oz pour on draft at Sweetwater Tavern Merrifield. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of roasty notes, coffee, dark chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, roast, coffee. Medium body with a dry finish. Nice coffee flavor. One of their better beers.
