Draft at Nepomuk beer festival Saturday 11th July 2026. Pours warm gold, actually amber in colour with a sticky mid sized white head. Really nice bitterness from the off, a little Mediterranean herbs, also piney and resinous. Very much a nod to a traditional American IPA, malty, it's a good beer. Score: 7.3

Can picked up from the restaurant onsite at Nový Rybník campsite nr Nepomuk Saturday 11th July 2026 and consumed sat outside Frank. Pours gold/orange with a mid sized white head. There is a little bit of squash (British citrus drink that you dilute with water, not vegetable 😆) perhaps a hint of citrus. Tastes a little bit rustic but fine enough. Not picking up diacetyl, bitterness is subtle. It's okay but cannot get too excited about it. Score: 6.1

Can consumed at Camping Nový Rybník nr Nepomuk after a lovely day in Plzen, Friday 10th July 2026. We set out from the campsite earlier and after a 7km hike then short train ride from Nepomuk arrived in Plzen then a few hours, few beers, lovely time and train back at 17:09. Pours almost amber in colour with a large white head, decent clarity.. Aroma is malty with a faint hint of smoke. Taste is fruity, there's a little smokiness, very light bitterness, not sure that I can pick up much else, Drinking this out of a hard plastic glass, head retention is poor in this glass and I wonder whether the whole experience is let down by the glass choice? I have another can so may re-rate if it cones across better out of a decent glass. Score: 6.5

Bottle back at Camping Nový Rybník nr Nepomuk after a lovely day in Plzen, Friday 10th July 2026. We set out from the campsite earlier and after a 7km hike then short train ride from Nepomuk arrived in Plzen then a few hours, few beers, lovely time and train back at 17:09. Okay back to the beer, this pours dark gold, actually it's amber, large white head. This is really interesting as it has a slight wheat/radler flavour, the banana is subtle as is any clove or yeastiness. It's almost a trainee/introduction to a wheat beer. It's absolutely fine but Aldersbacher do better themselves as do many other wheat beer breweries, so yeah interesting but not completely my thing. Score: 6.6
