Visited on a Friday, 5 minutes before opening (they were kind enough to open early for us). I had driven by this store maybe 50 times as it lies between my parents and sister’s homes. Selection is very strong, particularly for Minnesota craft and craft singles. Overall, not a huge selection, and really limited for global craft. Having said that, the selection of local beer and singles is the best in the area, and the service is crazy helpful. Explaining the sorting system, pointed out some new beers that were in, answered all of my questions. Prices are a touch higher, though this is certainly a boutique. Their Wine selection is also well worth the visit. Can’t believe it took me this long to visit, highly recommend.

16 oz can to glass courtesy of my mother in law. The pour is a black brown, opaque, 1 1/2 inch khaki head that is rocky and lasting. Nice splotchy lace left behind. The aroma is soft roast malt, nice soft toffee malt sweetness and resin pine. The taste is bright resin pine up front, hint of citrus, with the roast malt and toffee behind, with flavors nicely integrated. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the pine resin crisp finish, along with additional roast and mineral to the after taste. Solid Black IPA.

16 oz can to glass courtesy of my brother in law. The pour is a clear golden with a ton of fine carbonation bubbles building up a white foam half inch white head that is lasting. The aroma is cereal grain, wet hay and the slightest bit of lemon. The taste is bright grain, floral, the hay and some lime to the finish. The palate is light bodied with active fizzy carbonation and a crisp, mostly clean, finish. Solid simple Lager.

16 oz can to glass courtesy of my brother in law. The pour is a clear golden orange with a small, lasting, white head. The aroma is fresh citrus hops along with a nice cereal malt grain. The taste is bright, expressive hop character with citrus and soft resin, along with some of the citrus fruit and malt soft sweetness. Nice balanced between the flavors. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, hint of alcohol warmth to the finish. Nice clean IPA.

Goblet glass draft at Rye in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a white foam head with a nice retentive head. The aroma is big fresh citrus and orange fruit hops, sweet cream and a hint of alcohol. The taste is the fresh citrus hops of the nose with warming alcohol that is well integrated. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with soft carbonation and the hop sweet alcohol finish. Well built Imperial Hazy.

8 oz half pour draft at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap (Mission Farms) in Overland Park, Kansas. The pour is a brown copper, clear, with a one inch foamy light khaki head. Nice coating lace left behind. The aroma is rich toffee malt, roast, and some cherry fruit sweetness. The taste is cherry malt, rich toffee, and a slight herbal medicinal finish with some syrup sweetness. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with soft carbonation and the lingering cherry malt sweetness. Solid.
