440ml can bought from Hopology and drunk at home. Light gold with only a little bit haze and a small film of off-white head. Aroma is light but pleasant, with notes of hay, white grapefruit and the promised orange. Taste on the sweet side, with a modest amount of orange, with a little bit of peach and candy sugar. Medium body with decent carbonation. It’s okay.

Keg draught at the Tap & Kitchen, Oundle. Light gold and a little hazy with a small film of white head. Big aroma of gooseberry and pineapple with an underpinning of sweet vanilla malt. Sweet balanced taste, gently malt-led at first but bringing in the bittersweet fruity hop. Ambrosial. Light body with carbonation on the heavy side, lifting the experience. I love NZ pale and this is no exception.

Handpull cask at Tap and Kitchen, Oundle. Reddish brown and clear with an uneven beige head and a little lacing. Nose has a bit of sulphur to it, a bit weird. Also woody character, some red berry. Taste has even more sulphur to it, with a dry bitterness pervading. Long tannic finish. Body feels full with very little carbonation. Usually love Nene Valley but this fell short.

Keg draught att he Tap and Kitchen, Oundle. Light gold, clear with a small ring of off-white head and good lacing. Sweet aroma with stone fruit, candy sugar. Gorgeous sweet taste, more stone fruit, some grapefruit, touches of white pepper and spruce. Medium body, slightly oily, carbonation on the high side. This is a really good pale from Nene Valley.

500ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Amber, clear with a quickly dissipating off-white/beige head. Leafy hops in the aroma, a little bit of lemon, light toffee. Taste of sweet and slightly spiced caramel, ending with light hop bitterness. Medium body with slightly heavy carbonation. Very nice, especially for the style.

440ml can bought from Hopology, Leicester and drunk at home. Light gold, hazy with a small white head. Light pineapple, candied orange and a touch of berry on the aroma. Muted if pleasant taste, heavy on blueberry and light stone fruit notes. Watery body with carbonation on the heavy side. It isn’t too bad at all, but it lacks the forward personality of so many of their beers.
