440ml can as part of the 6th birthday bundle from the brewery and drunk at home. Puce and hazy with a thin off-white/pink head. Gorgeous aroma of custard, berries and orchard fruit. Lovely! However the taste doesn't quite follow through as much, with a light sweet-sour and slightly medicinal in the finish. Watery body with medium carbonation. Pretty good all things considered but not perfect.

440ml can as part of a 6th birthday delivery from the brewery. (Their 6th birthday, not mine.) It pours very dark brown, pretty much opaque, with very little head. Chocolate malts, treacle, a little bit of espresso and maybe even some rubber in the aroma. Taste is sweet, chewy chocolate, caramel, salt liquorice.very boozy on the latter half of the sip within tense vanilla on the finish and some decent bitterness. It's soupy thick with very little carbonation. Impressive impy and setting the bar high for 2026.

Handpull cask at the Brunswick, Derby. Proper black with a swirl of tan head. Aroma of roast black malt, pine needles, some light citrus. Taste is bitter, almost charred after a very brief initial sweetness. Light sourness near the finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. An exciting beer.

Handpull cask at the Alexandra Hotel, Derby. Light to mid-gold and clear with a loose off-white head. Slightly astringent aroma with some lemon merengue and agave syrup.no hint of the intense ginger to come. The taste is full of spicy ginger, eclipsing the bittersweet character of the beer beneath. Long spicy finish. Light body, soft carbonation. More than a spot of ginger that's for true, but I can hack it.

Draught keg at the Smithfield, Derby. Very dark brown, a little translucent with a swirlof tan head. Light aroma, I'm straining a bit but ultimately getting brown sugar, espresso, custard. Tastes sweet but doesn't run away with the sweetness. There a coffee-inspired bitterness setting in quickly and riding all the way to the finish. Gooey thick body with low to medium carbonation. Exciting stuff for sure and doesn't taste anywhere near 12%.
