Draught keg at the brewery. Mid-gold and hazy with a small uneven white head. Juicy aroma, I'm getting mostly oranges but there's a little bit of pineapple. Sweet taste, more citrus with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. A fairly basic IPA but done well... after all it's Black Iris.

Handpull cask at the Bull's Well, Bulwell. Light gold, clear with the tiniest white head. Metallic aroma with strong notes of orange peel. Sweet taste, little bit of caramel, notable bitterness in the finish. Light body with soft to nil carbonation. Really nice if a little bit artificial.

Handpull cask at the Abbey, Bulwell. Mid-gold, doesn't quite clear. Small white head. White grape, naked malt, some citrus in the aroma. Taste is sweet and juicy but doesn't have that hop bite. A little unexciting. Light chalky body with soft carbonation. Always good to welcome a new brewery into the fold but I'm not feeling this.

Handpull cask at Byron's Rest, Hucknall. Light gold, clear with a small white head and good lacing.light fruity aroma, a little bit of orchard fruit. Taste is bittersweet, very basically noncommittal. More orchard fruit and a little citrus. Light body with soft carbonation. Just can't really get into this but it is fine.

Handpull cask at the Beer Shack, Hucknall. Light to mid-golden and clear with an uneven froth of white head. Grassy aroma, light citrus, some bready malt. Tastes amazing, briefly sweet with notes of apricot, changing quickly to a keen hoppy bitterness..light to medium body, soft carbonation. A nice cask pale ale.
