500 ml corked and caged bottle. Aroma has notes of funk, lemon, wood, vanilla, leafy green hops. Pours hazy golden with a thin bone-white head that settles into a ring fairly quickly. Taste is moderately sour (6/10), funky and a little sweet. Those leafy green hops really present themselves after a nice belch. This is amazing.

16 oz can. Aroma is apples, puke (I think that’s the milk sugar), floral, cinnamon. Pours hazy golden with an immediately collapsing off-white head. Taste is moderately sour (7/10), fairly sweet, and a little salty with apple pie flavors. Thankfully the pukey milk sugar isn’t that noticeable in flavor.

750 ml waxed bottle. 2025 vintage. 14.1% ABV. Aroma has notes of cinnamon, cocoa, licorice, coffee, chili pepper, wood, plum, butterscotch. Pours used motor oil black with an immediately collapsing tan head. Taste is bittersweet, lightly tart, and faintly spicy with bold, rich flavors of cinnamon and cocoa, and lighter touches of vanilla, chili pepper and coffee. Like drinking syrup towards the end of the bottle. One of those beers that I would have raved about, giving it a near perfect score, ten years ago. Now these types of beers seem like overly rich and sweet booze bombs. I’m needing more subtlety these days as I get older.

12.7 oz bottle. Aroma is coconut, cocoa, wood, vanilla, molasses. Pours very dark brown with a half finger beige head that falls into a ring immediately. Taste is bittersweet with flavors of coconut and dark chocolate. A lovely strong bitterness lingers long on the palate.
