Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy brown body with no head. Low carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of cherry, earth and a slight smokiness. Flavour of toffee and roasted malt. Medium to full body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Very easy drinking for the ABV. This is a subtle and interesting beer.

Bottle from Against The Grain. Hazy to murky ruby body with a pale pink head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of ripe cherries and candy. Flavour of juicy cherries, cranberry and an oaky finish. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. This is stunning, and justifies the £10 per bottle price. Holy Goat are one of Scotland’s top breweries - they produce very special beers.

Flavour of lime, pineapple and a hint of hop burn. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A citric and juicy IPA.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy dark brown body with a beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of charred pineapple, coffee beans and lime chutney. Flavour of pine, roasted malt and orange. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A soft and approachable BIPA. It’s pretty good.
