MrSpooks Profile - Brewver (Dev)

I really, really wanted to like this beer. Was the rare hazy I was enjoying, with an outsized citrus-tropical hop character and plenty of pine bitterness and an appreciable lack of sweetness. But the astringency is too much to bear; beer shouldn’t hurt to drink. Shame.

Hazy as a Phish show, offering up bright notes of grapefruit zest and lime and a touch of tropical fruit, followed by a mild floral note and a modest pine bitterness. More like a session IPA than a pils, but drinkable.

Kinda ticks all the boxes for why this style is not my cup of tea: overhopped, astringent, sweet, and weirs chemical flavor that makes the back end taste like how OFF! bug spray smells. Just not my thing.

Skews closer to a craft light lager than a kölsch, with a hefeweizen-ish vein of clove and vanilla sweetness and a very faint floral note on the back end. Very clean and unobtrusive on the finish with lingering esters and not much bitterness. As inoffensive as a freshly mowed lawn.

Nice Czech amber lager, notes of toasted bread and caramel and a touch of dark fruit acidity, followed by a gentle floral bitterness. Solid pint.

Too sweet for my blood. Quick burst of mango and peach, then quickly devolves into marshmallow fluff and lemon candy and creamsicle. Grows astringent as it warms but stays sweet. Not for me.
