Appearance - jet black and a thin beige head.
Nose - molasses and blackberry with some roast at the back.
Taste - chocolate, toffee, blackberry and still molasses.
Palate - full bodied, sweet middle, still sweet on the finish but some roast.
Overall - great stuff!

Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Thin beige head.
Nose - faint iodine and wood barrel note but with not much of the expected Islay peat smoke.
Taste - saline again, and now some peat with chocolate and dry wood.
Palate - medium to full bodied, dry roast and woody finish.
Overall - good if not as smoky as expected.

Appearance - opaque dark brown to black and oily in texture. Not much head left after the pour has completed.
Nose - leather, black fruit, chocolate and brown sugar.
Taste - black cherry, liquorice, blackberry, sticky toffee pudding and caramel.
Palate - full bodied, as the description says, very sticky and chewy and sweet.
Overall - lovely gear!

Can from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - deep brown to black, though quite bright with a thin beige head.
Nose - boozy, whisky and burnt wood.
Taste - wood, whisky and char from the barrel.
Palate - booze, wood and roast. Quite full bodied.
Overall - good.

Appearance - reddish brown with a thin beige head.
Nose - cherries, red fruits generally and cherry stone. Brown bread, malt loaf and raisins. Figs, dates and general syrup.
Taste - figs in syrup, malt loaf and tinned orange.
Palate - medium bodied, plus, chewy middle and finish.
Overall - definitely the most interesting beer to try in a while and with no adjuncts - how refreshing!!!

Appearance - deep brown with a slightly off-white, creamy head.
Nose - brown bread, burnt toffee and faint chocolate.
Taste - chewy toffee, malt loaf and honeycomb.
Palate - medium bodied, roasty finish.
Overall - not sure that ticks all the boxes for the style. The base beer seems too light.

Taste - more malt loaf, tangy raisin and toffee. Soft, tasty malts.
Palate - medium bodied, creamy and a roasty finish.
Overall - good stuff!
