Bottle thanks to Stuu.
Appearance - opaque black like crude oil. Thin beige head.
Nose - burnt wood, booze, raisin and prune.
Taste - luscious chocolate, prunes, liquroice, raisin, woody and boozy.
Palate - full bodied, rich and sticky, long sticky finish..
Overall - absolutely luscious and delicious.

Can from Barley Cargo.
Appearance - murky brown with a thin beige head.
Nose - sweet spices, like cinnamon and nutmeg. Brown bread with dried orange. Jamaica cake.
Taste - mire Jamaica Cake, nutmeg, ginger and malt loaf.
Palate - medium bodied, spicy and lightly roasty
Overall - good.

Can from Beer Ambleside.
Appearance - cloudy amber with a thin white head.
Nose - raspberry, herb, biscuit and funk.
Taste - herbs and raspberry again.
Palate - light bodied, dry and slightly tart.
Overall - a bit different.

Appearance - solid red pink with no head to speak of.
Nose - raspberry, creamy raspberry and lightly tart.
Taste - lactose, raspberry and generally tart.
Palate - light bodied, but creamy middle with a long tart finish.
Overall - good.

Appearance - matt black with a foamy tan head.
Nose - pine, roast, milky coffee and creamy chocolate.
Taste - pine, grapefruit, grapefruit pith and some creamy milk chocolate.
Palate - light to medium bodied, dry and zesty finish.
Overall - great stuff. A small window to perfect this hybrid style and they're in it!

Can from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - amber to brown and cloudy. Foamy, beige coloured head.
Nose - red fruit, dried orange, caramel and some nougat.
Taste - sweet spices like nutmeg and ginger, cola, light smoke and generous red fruit. Again, nuts, caramel and nougat.
Palate - medium bodied at least, roasty and spicy through middle and finish.
Overall - lovely stuff!

Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Crema head.
Nose - dark chocolate, liquorice, raisins and prunes.
Taste - more raisins, prunes, hazelnut and liquorice.
Palate - full bodied, rich and sweet with a boozy edge.
Overall - the barrel flavours come through beautifully.

Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Off-white
Nose - chocolate and hazelnut, into praline.
Taste - more of the same. Some toffee too.
Palate - medium bodied, sweet then light drying on the finish.
Overall - quite luscious and does exactly what it says on the tin.
