solidly waxed, i struggled a bit with opening this bottle.
pours very dark brown, settles very very dark brown with a bubbly brown to light brown head. looks like a BA imp. stout.
Boozy aroma with a lot of roasted malts, bourbon BA notes, boozy stingy notes. in a way it reminds me a lot of some versions of bourbon county stout. aroma is clean, driven by barrel aging and the brewing process. licorice, faint chocolate, faint coconut, woody notes, tons of roasted malts, aroma is quite dry.
flavor is roasted malts, licorice, bourbon, notes from wood, charred wood, end is roasted malty bitter with perhaps some coffee bitterness.. no bitter caramel whatsoever - the roasted malty bitterness is top dollar. an awesome sipper.
in my book more a BA imp.stout than a barley wine, but it does have some aspects of barley wine.
my score is 8.0. it's better than that. i'm confused they have barleywine BA on the bottle though. you could put this into a bourbon country brand BA stout , call it something fancy and nobody would notice.
Now i have nearly 75cl of this. i'm spoiled for days. Yahoo!

Dark orange, smooth beige head.
hoppy resiny aroma, nutty malts, dank hops, bitter hops, a bit to the european ESB sort of hoppy side, but quite aromatic and flavorful and thus a very full bodied european ipa inspired aroma. to me, has the american heaviness of an american ipa, but the european dankness and not-so-flowery bitter aroma notes.
flavor is slightly flowery, slightly fruity (sweet boiled cocktail fruits so not that interesting), a bit like old hops kind of aromatic nutty but bordering metallic notes. almost caramelly. aroma was great, flavor is weird.
still, fairly full bodied and flavorful.

cloudy red , pink small smooth head
very clean aroma of fresh fruity raspberries and not much else. like a tart raspberry soda or lemonade. simple but very nice.
flavor is raspberries, tarntness and sourness, bit of herbal bitterness. lively carbonation, more a fruit beer than a sour, but super nice in its own way. flavorful and refreshing. perhaps a tiny bit too much herbal fruity notes.

Hazy yellow, smooth offwhite head
pretty good pine/grapefruit hoppy aroma, also a bit perfumney and soapy unfortunately, but in the general a solid aroma and strong for this abv in a bottle i found in a discount supermarket at a pretty fair price.
flavor is malty, bitter flowery, pine and grapefruit, i think there are notes from wheat malts (checking label) yup!. yeasty flowery ending.

very very dark red, nearly black. bubbles for head.
deep dark fruity aroma with fruity sour and tart notes and a solid honey base.
flavor is honey, faint fruit stone, quite strong ripe cherries or other dark red fruits. is in fact strawberries - those must be really well done ripe or the honey adds sweetness that seem to be fruity.
there is a litle bit of mead bitterness but mostly it's just honey and strawberries extremely effectively blended together, resulting in a uniform flavor that is neither fruit nor honey. perhaps a tiny bit thin for a mead - but not at all watery. very balanced and smooth. also tastes really good.

clear yellow, smooth white head
whole-grain bready malty aroma , crisp, with very fine subtle yeast fruity notes, also a very subtle nearly undetectable hoppy note to balance the malts. pretty solid aroma for a pilsener. all the notes are initially signalling craft beer, not industrial beer. however after a few minutes in the glass, i do get some cardboardy and metallic notes that i most often find in cheap lager.
flavor is ever so slightly fruity, bready (whole grain) dry nutty malty, fitting almost flavorless hoppy bitterness, mineral watery texture. mild and subtle in strength, works really well as a dry high drinkability lager.

Pitch dark, small brown head.
Aroma of chocolate cookies, caramel , mild
Flavor is caramel, lots of caramel, chocolate, only faint roasted malts, thick viscosity. One of the most caramelly beers I've had. Think caramel vanilla ice cream
