aroma is with a good rounded malty base and a lot of fruity hops, with no off flavors at all. Very pleasing aroma. Could perhaps be a little bit stronger, but what there is, is top of the shelf very good.
flavor is quite bitter hoppy with oranges and peaches flavors, mouthfeel is extremely dry, but palate is soft. pretty good flavor, a tiny bit too exotic fruity for my preferences, and the bitterness is a tiny bit too bittersweet (i prefer pine and grapefruit bitterness) but nevertheless a very balanced , well rounded and tasty strong IPA. It carries it's 8% strength well.

pours black with a light brown fizzy head that soon disappears.
most dominant in the aroma is honey, soon followed by cake spices and chocolate, aroma is quite a bit like christmas pudding (after booze has been added) . dried dark fruits. faint bitter caramel. i can't find any roasted malts which is a bit of a concern, but probably mostly bc i expected imperial stout.
flavor is closer to cristmas pudding than anything else. burnt raisins, dark grains, booze, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, dark caramel.

Hazy yellow, smooth white head.
Pine and grapefruit in the Aroma faint herbal notes.
Flavor is herbal hoppy as hazy ipa often is. Good malty base. Citrus fruits from hops and bitttersweet almost dried fruity (dried banana chips) notes from malts. A bit brutal and unrefined / unbalanced

caned in san diego
very dark brown, almost pitch black, brown head that is bubbly and soon disappears.
boozy aroma, booze and vanilla dominates, then comes dark chocolate and some roasted malts and some coffee.
flavor is bitter coffee, roasted malts, pastry, faint dark caramel, dark chocolate - the roasted malts are low and instead we got bitter caramel, bit of coffee, note of vanilla, undefined boozy note - so boozy i'm almost associating rum to it. I like ordinary speedway stout WAY better.

pours brown with a large beige to light brown head. looks a bit like a Vienna.
aroma is nutty, chestnuts, roasted malts (not like a stout, more like a vienna) faint slightly sweet note like somewhere betweeen sweet nuts and flowers. very faint smoked malty note. If i had blindtested this, i would've guessed vienna.
flavor is sweet nutty, bitter nutty, toasted malty - but not overly sweet, also tastes like a vienna, only it's quite flavorful.

Roasted malts and peaches in the Aroma.
Flavor is roasted malts, faint peaches, dark dried fruits, faint dark chocolate
The peaches are felt throughout the tasting experience but they do not dominated.
Comes off as a bit boozy but nowhere nearly as much as expected. Alc well hidden

tap at taphouse, june 2025. Extremely solid chocolate aroma. Tons of layers of dark chocolate. Might be more chocolate than chocolate rain
The chocolate aroma is like heats of shredded 75% dark good chocolate.
Flavor is pastry and chocolate. Waffles and butter joint the party which is not too crowded. Aroma was the best with this one. Extraordinarily sweet and hard to find the roasted malty notes
Bottle from kihoskh, "2024 vintage"
aroma is heavy dark chocolate cake, chocolate cream, vanilla flavored pastry. cake frosting after a while. quite chocolate forward, but the chocolate cake kind of chocolate aroma. adjusted aroma from 8.5 to 7.5
poured extremely dark brown with a thick pour and settled pitch black with a dark brown head that did not last long. appearance changed from 6 to 7. Flavor is dark chocolate, dark chocolate dessert, peppery note that blends with the alcohol, some sweeter notes resembling the caramelish things in toblerone, cake frosting, the roasted malts are hard to find, drowned by all the chocolatey notes. although intense, the chocolate does not really taste gourmet or fine - also very faint but disturbing burnt or bitter caramelly notes. flavor changed from 6 to 7. soft velvety thick texture, stays at 8, overall increase from 7.0 to 7.5
serving changed from draft taphouse to bottle kihoskh
