330ml bottle [#3/528]. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, very small, frothy to creamy, rapidly diminishing, barely lacing, tan head. BA supported, roasty, chocolately and slightly spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, notes of dark toffee, dark chocolate, some liquorice, vanilla, whisky, a touch of dark caramel, whiffs of leather, peat. Taste is roasty, slightly spicy, dark malty, slightly caramel malty with low residual sweetness, minimally alcoholic, minimally metallic-mineral, hints of liquorice, iron, BA notes of whisky, peat, leather, a touch of vanilla, salt, weak, fruity-alcoholic overtones with a touch of plum wine, dried dark fruit.
Surprisingly light body and rather watery (or dissolved sugar enriched and simultaneously alcohol thinned, eventually watery) texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, slightly scattered, mildly prickly carbonation.
Some nice subtleties but overall not the most complex Impy Stout, somehow concentrated but seemingly light - an uncomplicated, enjoyable "higher speed" sipper.

440ml can. Murky, yellow-ish, golden colour with minimally late awakening, average, dense, creamy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Condensed, metallic, fruity hoppy, slightly alcoholic aroma, oaty and slightly wheaty malty background, notes of tropical fruit, some orange, burnt rubber, iron, rust. Taste is sweet, wheaty and oaty malty, condensed, tropical and citrusy fruity hoppy, mildly bitter, slightly alcoholic, notes of mandarine, orange, marmalade, some grapefruit, mango, yellow stone fruit, yellow jelly, some sugary aspects, some zesty bitterness; lingering finish with a warming, alcoholic touch and increasing bitterness, relatively well hidden alcohol overall.
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying and minimally greasy palate,
Surprisingly tasty as the many off-flavours in the aroma are rather deterrent - quite OK overall. I still have to get used to the fact that some IPAs must be seen as a sipper.

330ml bottle. Clear, orange golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, bready, grainy, malty, slightly doughy yeasty and slightly resinous, hoppy aroma, hints of cereals and honey, brioche. Taste is mildly bitter, resinous and minimally earthy, herbal hoppy, slightly doughy yeasty on sweet-ish, slightly bready, malty basis, hints of brioche, honey covered cereals, a touch of thistle.
Oily texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Sweet, monotonous, hoppy, but somehow rather flavourless so - at least nothing to senselessly strain your liver.

Quite sweet, monotonous, kind of hybrid between Tripel and "Kristallweizenbock" - OK.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, chestnut colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, pale beige head. Nutty, caramel malty, slightly dark malty and minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of praline, nougat, malt lozenge, hints of hezelnut, a touch of mandarine, orange. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, nutty, slightly chocolately, dark malty and minimally fruity hoppy, minimally diluted notes of praline, nougat, hints of hazelnut, milk chocolate, caramel, malt lozenge, a touch of mandarine, orange, weak zesty bitterness; yeasty spicy interference in the finish.

Not really "Bock-ish" character, somehow more Brown Ale-like, seemingly light - quite nice nevertheless.
