Exploring the wine and spirit world asside of this all. Allow me to explain a bit on how I score. These are based on personal enjoyment. Quality & 'in style' are part of that enjoyment, but won't totally make or break a drink, if I myself have a different opinion. Whiskey : Rated on the website 'whiskeybase' ( account Kraddell ) Wine : Rated on the App / Site 'Vivino' ( Account named Kraddel . ) <-- with the dot. Still searching a medium for other spirits, so those aren't online for now. If you know anything, let me know ;) For all mediums, the score is decided like this : 100 : Absolute perfection. Must have sampled it at least twice, and be mindblown twice. 90 - 100 : absolutely amazing. I'd like a drink like this anytime, even if it ain't the cheapest. 80-90 : Very damn good. It'll depend a bit more on the price - but this is probably one to seek out. 70-80 : better than average . Will likely enjoy again if it's priced compeditive. 70 : Average score for anything with alcohol . // 50 : The absolute middlepoint ( pure H2O ) Anything with alcohol beneath 50 is simply not worth drinking (seriously, concider your liver) // 05 : The absolute, final downpoint . Songs shall be written about how this attack to the tastebuds has started a rage within, killing inocent bystanders for no apparent reason - other than the fact my life is ruined by drinking this. On the other hand, it's kinda interesting to try something THIS bad, so you should probably seek it out ! As you can see, I use the FULL scale , and a rating of 70 by myself isn't bad at all !

Pours unclear, dark amber to copper. Medium small, stable white head. Scent is full, deep maltyness, creamy impression. Mild to silent on hops, yeast only as a supportive roll - not a main player. Taste is surprisingly bitter. Crisp yet deep maltyness, very caramelly. Breadcrust. Has some Bitter Ale influences, seemingly, but much less creamy so, in compare. Quite enjoyable, simple as it may be.

Pours clear, lighter blonde. Small , medium stable white head. Scent is very mild. Whiff of pilsner malts. Taste is farily bitter. Crisp, fresh, yet a bit sweet and diacetyl-like finish (I didn't really get diacetyl in the nose though) Maltyness is pleasant, so is the bitterness. if only it were (quite) a bit more dry, it would actually be very enjoyable.

Pours a clear, pale blonde. Medium small white head, very stable. Scent is mild, fresh maltyness, silent on yeast and hops. Taste is medium mild, some bitterness over a pleasant malty base. Not very characteristic as a Kölsch, but not a bad beer at all to me. It's rather weak, bland, and generic, seemingly a typical lager, rather than a Kölsch; therefor i understand the lower ratings. However, I can't be to mean about a beer thats free of real off-flavors, and is - for what it is - enjoyable, in a way. Just think of it as a random cheap lager, and this suits expectations.

Pours a fairly clear golden blonde. Medium small to small white head. Scent is mild, some malts, very dense and deep, rather than crisp and fresh -suiting the style nicely. Taste is malty, sweet, slightly too sweet for my taste. Mild bitterness. Doens't taste very fresh, notes of honey (aged maltyness) - upon checking, this beer has indeed expired a few months ago, around the time I bought it. Medium body, has a certain creamyness to it. Not bad, but certainly not great.

Pours black, no real head but minor darkly tanned bubble formation. Scent is roasty, medium mild chocolate (cocoa) and fairly expressive, but not overly specific, BBA. Taste is full. Sweet and thick. loads of maple at the start, assertive chocolate underneath, going hand in hand with the vanilla. Roasted malts support the beer very well. Well made, but not truly exceptionnal in terms of depth or complexity. Fairly balanced - if you like the sweet, roasty pastry style stouts, but not AS creamy, deep and complex as the very best are. Than again, if we're starting to compare with the very best, that should be a tell that this isn't an average beer ;) Alcohol shines trough, quite loud at times but never truly boozy. A very solid offering, but being 2025 this isn't a standout anymore.

Pours clear, lighter blonde. Small white , fairly soapy head. Scent is typical lager, slight DMS, not as crisp and vibrant as the better examples tend to be. Taste is rather crisp though, at the start. Fairly bitter as well. Slight DMS but otherwise rather clean . Medium expressive yeast. Slight sweetness (background) . Restrained intensity, not as bready / malty as hoped, more about the bitterness. Not the best, sure, but given the low ratings prior to mine here, I expected it to be far worse.

Kraddel has a new beer style achievement

Level 11 for Lambic Style - Gueuze ticks with a total of 300 ticks of this sub style.
Zjang Van Brissel Cuvee Witse from Brouwerij Eylenbosch (2019 - ... ) was the one that did it!

Pours as a full, 100% glass of foam. The opening wasn't very forcefull though, no gusher at all. Scent is mild, some brett and oak, but very tuned down. Taste is very dry, sharp acidic (loads of lemon-acid-like) , but some other acids to give a more complex structural backbone. Quite malty, almost fleshy finish that's quite nice. Never very loud, but certainly more outspoken in the taste than the aroma. I kinda like it. Not nearly as overcarbonated as feared.

Nearly missed out on this one, as stock went freaking fast (and I myself was very slow), so happy, more than happy, to have found a random unknown (to me) webshop that had it ! Opens with quite a bit of power, but no gusher. pours a 80% foam though. A darker blonde underneath. Scent is quite powerfull, typical Boon greatness from a distance. Up close, specifically mature for a Boon, woody, but not over the top woody. Fruity, but less so than most Boon (hence the mature idea) . Taste starts of as highly carbonated. Fresh hop , it seems ? Very herbal, green and even a bit spicy / bitter. Not the biggest fan of this - I liked it in the fresh hop coigneau - because it was the whole idea and marketed as such, here it's much more unexpected, less fitting. It has less of the boon 'funk' I had an amazing experience with in the aroma. Not a bad beer, but I might even prefer the regular Boon over it (tastewise) , whils the aroma was so, so promissing. Happy to have tried it, even more happy the regular boon is so easely available. Even at colruyt !
