On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty to leathery smoke, tobacco, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is very sweet and even more spicy, with intense chipotle peppers, almost sickly sweet syrupy notes, and some smoky, tobacco-like notes. Over-the-top in sweetness and spiciness—please just dial both back. There’s a good beer here but it’s ruined a bit by the brutality of the underlying elements.

On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of smoked tomato skins, spicy peppers, and a touch of saline. Flavour of burnt tomato skins, intense spicy peppers, saline, and lacto. The tomato is intense and the peppers even more so. Fun ridiculous beer that is barely drinkable.

On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a clear bright red with a small pink head. Aroma is all beetroot, smelling just like traditional borsch, with maybe a hint of saline underneath. Flavour is all beetroot, with plenty of sourness, earthy beetroot, saline, and a hint of lacto. Beer bomb. I like beets but you gotta have something else if you’re gonna put it in a beer. Fun but not good.

On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a strange murky blend of the white wine and saison character, with some wood glue that’s quite prominent, musty grape skins, and earthiness. Flavour is a little better, with plenty of white wine grape skins, a touch of wood glue, farmhouse notes, and moderate acidity. I like the Pinot Gris notes but I’m less convinced of the rest. Decent but way subpar for SARA.
