On tap at Bruder, pours a clear dark-ish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has stale bready malt, not much else. Flavour is really stale, with a pretty gross malt character, some tartness that shouldn’t be there. This is really bad.

On tap at Bruder, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is pretty weak, with biscuity malt, not much else, certainly no hops. Flavour is totally lifeless, with biscuity malt, no hops whatsoever, and just a generally stale, lifeless profile. Extremely lame, pointless beverage.

Close to many other breweries in the neighbourhood, this is another nice spot. 7 house beers on tap when we visited, including two imperial stouts. We got a flight of 5 for $45,000 pesos ($12 USD). The beers were pretty haphazard, with the pils and amber lager being pretty terrible, and the imperial stouts being light but drinkable. Large food menu with lots of vegetarian and vegan options, so I grabbed a vegan burger that was pretty good. Friendly service, but no English spoken. Come for the flight, but don't expect much.

Likely the best spot in Bogota that we visited for beer quality. They had 9 beers on tap when we want, 6 of their own and 3 guests. Flights of 5 available for about $20,000 pesos (about $5 USD)--we got 4 of their house beers on it and enjoyed most of them, especially their excellent red IPA. Very friendly bartender, who spoke a bit of English and was very hospitable. Beautiful bar and one of the best experiences in town for beer.

On tap at Gigante, pours a clear dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma is way too malty, with sweet bready malt, toasted caramel, and very subdued resinous hops. Flavour is likewise too malty / unbalanced, with lots of bready and caramel malt, some resinous hops, but too malty—at least not too sweet, just malty. Not terrible but this needs work.

On tap at Gigante, pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals fairly subtle vanillin character from the bourbon, with a soft caramel malt base. Flavour is surprisingly smooth, with soft vanillin, oak, bourbon, and toasted caramel. Pretty soft and restrained for a 10% bourbon BA beer. Would be nice to have more oomph in something like this, but this is pretty nice as a subtler, easier-drinking bourbon ale.
