On tap at August, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is clean, when straw, not much else. Flavour is very watery even for a pale lager, with straw, grainy notes, and a tiny hint of grass. Serviceable pale lager but nothing special.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden with a large, fluffy white head. Nose has some nice resinous hops, some cat piss (more than allium) from the Citra, light pine, and gently sweet biscuity malt. Flavour is robust, with quite a lot of Citra showcasing itself in the cat piss variety, with an almost tart citrusy character, and a touch of resinous oiliness. Very thin malt base—there’s a touch of sweetness, but it’s minimal. Unusual hop expression that borders on the tart without really being so. Good, quite unique westie DIPA.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of tangy, musty white wine grapes, some leather, gentle acidity, and a hint of funk. Flavour is quite tangy and modestly acidic, with light lemon, white pepper, musty white wine grape skins, and a hint of funk. Doesn’t have the funk complexity that a top lambic would have. Drinks more like a tangy, slightly funky wild ale than anything lambic-like. Good.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy yellow with a small, quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma has a nice barnyard character, nice leathery character, rustic farmhouse notes, and some lemon skins. Flavour is fairly lemony upfront, with plenty of hay, rustic farmhouse notes, and some muddled mustiness. Pretty nice yeast expression, but doesn’t have the vibrance or complexity I hoped for. Good but not great.

355mL can, pours a deep dark burgundy with a small tan head. Nose is full of roasted malt, bitter black liquorice, and bitter cocoa. Flavour is extremely bitter and roasty, with intense roasted malt and hoppy bitterness in rather jagged balance. Nice roast and bitterness, but the integration could be better. Decent.

16.9 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of tequila barrel, light cinnamon, a touch of spiciness, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is cohesive, with cinnamon and chili upfront, accentuated by tequila barrels, a touch of bourbon, and a touch of cocoa. Nice cinnamon and chili, with just enough sugars. Far from my favourite Alesong, but this is done well.
