Shared by kraddel, thank you sir. Beautiful bright golden amber color, still. Aroma is vinous but slightly harsh. Taste is more harsh, reminiscent of sherry but muchg boozier. Not my cup of tea

IMHO the true test of a brewer's skill is whether they can make a flavorful low abv beer - and as expected, de la Senne passes with flying colors. This has an aroma that reminds me of its older brother, a beer I loved to drink on tap at Kulminator. The taste is bitter straw and lemon, and the body is substantial. Solid flavor but very refreshing on a hot day. During a summer that doesn't seem to end in Germany, this beer was a nice pick-me-up.

Second visit today for an open day event. Characterful barn now full of barrels and foeders. Modern taproom with a serving bar/coolers and a separate bottle shop. Lots of outdoor space with umbrella tables and picnic tables scattered about. Neither event was very crowded, and this year's event had 10 or so brewers of mainly spontaneously fermented beers and natural wines.Friendly service.Very tasty beers. Good prices. A short distance from Halle, which makes a good base to stay. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful location with challenging parking, but easily walkable from the abbey. Huge place on two levels. Despite a light crowd, it took about 45 minutes to get a table, the maitre d' was extremely disorganized. Once seated the service was prompt and friendly. Food is tasty, and there are multiple ways you can get your Orval fix. Worthwhile, but reserve a table to avoid the fuss.

Gorgeous place in a beautiful setting. Parking can be challenging on a weekend. A visit to the museum and a walk through the ruins are well worth it, and then of course you can buy a box of beer with a glass on the way out, and maybe some cheese and mustard if you like.

A pleasant enough place in a nice location right on the main square. Decent selection included a handful of house beers. Light snax only. On a crowded Friday night there was only one guy working both inside and outside tables, so after a 35 minute wait for a second beer I got up and paid at the bar. And went to Parlement.

Bottle at the namesake source courtesy of Geert, thank you! Clear bright golden color, swiftly settling bubbles. Aroma of dusty 19th century attics. Taste has moderate funk and overripe stonefruit. Dry finish. delicious
