Bottle from Stacks. Cloudy black, no head. Aroma of chocolate sauce, dark fudge, brown sugar, dried banana, pear, vanilla, rum. Taste has sweet banana, pear & date in a dark-chocolatey, brown-sugary, vanilla-ish malt body with some phenolic notes. Soft herbal hops in the finish, very chocolatey (pralines with liqueur), warming liqueur- & rum-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sharp rum is present but not too boozy. Good.

7 November 2025. At Hal 16 (Dok Brewing). Shared with Bene & Dries!

A: hazy red, quickly thinning pink head.
A: passion fruit, mushy pineapple, vague banana, mango, multifruit juice.
T: sweetish mango, sourish passion- & dragon fruit, pomegrenate, jam-like maltiness.
F: tart pomegrenate pits & passion fruit.
P: medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
Gimmicky, but better than your average 'fruit juice contender'.

Taste has sweetish papaya & pineapple, spicy pepper & scallion in a doughy malt body. Floral & peppery hops in the finish, lingering juicy stone fruit, spicy pine, scallion, onion. Bottle from Stacks. Hazy amber-brown, thinning, off-white head. Aroma of Marsala, bourbon, sherry, pralines with liqueur, old milk chocolate, hazelnut oil, candied plum, date, 'kramiek', pecan pie, nail polish, apothecary. Taste has very sweet prune, date & ripe pear with a touch of banana in a hazelnutty, caramelly, slightly milk-chocolatey malt body; some spicy phenols. Soft herbal hops in the finish, quickly dominated by medicinal and dried fruit notes, woody vanilla and quite boozy bourbon & liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Just a tad too boozy but in itself a firm and structured malt-forward Barley Wine.
