2007 Bottle, slightly out of date when shared at the 1st Shrewsbury bottle swap on 27th Jan 2014. All four of us enjoyed it: one of my contributions. I thought it was a lovely mellow brew, the oak aging and time in the bottle calmed down the usual Rodenbach tartness. Poured that wonderful reddy brown only Belgian sour reds seem to be able to find, on top a thin blush coloured head. The nose took in sour cherries, cranberries and woody notes with a mild vinegar hint. Taste wise it showed what aging in oak can do: obviously full of old cherries and sourness it seemed smooth, settled and with a sweet undertone, almost more like cherry pie than sour cherries. A true classic and a beer I’m sure will age well should anyone be brave enough to keep any for a few more years. A delight to drink with other people who appreciate good beer.

US Pint can from O'Sheas. Poured (twice) into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip glass at my daughters place in Laguna Hills on 31st July 2025. Very dark, almost black in colour, tanned crust on top. Malty, semi sweet and pleasant. These sort of beers can be rather thin body wise, but this was fine, not rich or slick, but a decent depth of flavour and certainly not watery or weak.

US Pint can from a Trader Joe's, drank in Laguna Hills at my daughter's place on 30th July 2025. Almost clear golden pour (into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip, twice), fast fading white crown on both pours. Not a lot going on really, the Liberty hops giving a slight floral aroma and twist to the flavour, luckily the malty base carries the beer through and it's refreshing enough. Should be drank after some hard labour or in bright sunshine, it's a lawnmower beer!

660ml bottle, shared with my Son-in-Law Matt on 30th July 2025. Poured into two La Chouffe glasses at his place in Laguna Hills. Clean and clear golden pour, swiftly dying white head. Sadly this wasn't the 'Special Reserve' we'd hoped for, it's pretty bland and uninteresting to be honest. Was hoping for a King Cobra sort of hit, but this is just a standard Lager with a little more alcohol within.

US Pint can from a Trader Joe's. Poured into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip glass at my daughters on 30th July 2025. Hazy golden body, white crown. Peachy, tropical leaning in the aroma and taste, slight sweetness leading the way. One of the better Hazy IPA's I've come across.
