Located on a forested, hilly peninsula created by a bend of the Vltava river, the amusingly named Řež is largely a classic Czech riverside village with some weekender vibes, albeit one with a nuclear reactor, hah. Polepšovna Ducha is a bar/event venue opened in the forest itself, up on the hill, on a very large sloped meadow that looks like a good place to go for a picnic, camping ("glamping" they say) or to hang out with friends - they also organize a bunch of cultural events (from pub quizzes through discgolf tournaments to concerts and wedding parties), which there is very much plenty of space for outside. It's an unique place, nicely atmospheric. Sadly, it was raining, and I went to the smallish bar itself - still with enough space, and thankfully wasn't the only one there. The lady was a bit curt and not the friendliest necessarily in manner, but did her job well, and I would also not be a ray of sunshine if I was working Fri-Sun in a place like this that counts on sunny weather and your Saturday is ruined by rain. The bar itself is nice enough, modernish, nicely decorated, pinkish lights, solid electronic music choice... Nice to chill in, dry and drink a few... would be nicer if there wasn't a bunch of annoying flies, but... there are horses next door. There are 3-4 taps, definitely just 3 beers on tap - 2 of which were theirs, but all of which were brewed at Moucha. Moucha's Mucholapka was a great beer to start with, and PD's Single Hop Krush Ale (the Summer Ale just went out) and the raspberry-blackberry sour being quite decent. There was one of their beers in the fridge too (should've gone for it in retrospect), with some macro n/a options as well, and a random assortment of beverages. Food's available - some cheapish pizzas, which I'd guess are of the frozen variety, probably something more special for events, unsure. Good prices too (for 2025) - 35/60 (0.25l/0.5l) for a big 10°, 40/65 for their ales, 45/80 for the sour. All in all, give it a visit if you're doing the S4 route and it's a nice day, it's a lovely place. Their beers can be found in Prague sometimes (Pivní Přístav seems to carry them), but still.

How to get here:
S4 from the Masaryk station (or Bubny or Podbaba) to Řež. Cross the Vltava on the footbridge, head straight, and you'll start seeing arrows leading you there - go forward until you can't, and you'll see the nuclear facility on your left, and some stairs uphill to your forward/right. Follow the sign and climb up, and then follow them through the forest. You'll end up by a farm with some cute horses, and there's a narrow path by its fence ending in a gate, which leads to the meadow where PD is located. DO NOT follow Google Maps! Their route circles around and takes 27 minutes from the station. This took me 13 minutes downhill on my way back, and I had a couple of quick stops and I wasn't exactly running (though I do walk faster than most usually). Give yourself 20 minutes before the train arrives just in case on your way back, but 15 should be more than enough for most.
